Michigan Cornhole and Firehouse Pub & Grill are partnering up again for another fun Summer at the St. Clair Shores Social District. They are shutting down Greater Mack for the night for a party. There will be plenty of Adult Beverages, Live Music, Cornhole Tournament and an all around great time on the Streets.

The event offers a tournament for all skill levels. We are adding another division this year, BEGINNER DIVISION. We will also have our Social & Advanced Divisions that we have always had. Divisions depend on amount of teams that register. If there are not enough teams divisions could be combined. It doesn’t matter what skill level you are this event is for you. So come out and enjoy the night with us!

TOURNAMENT DETAILS:

Where- Firehouse Pub & Grill St. Clair Shores, MI

When- Saturday May 13th- Oct 28th (These events are on the 2nd & 4th Saturday of the months)

Time- 5:30pm Check-In, 6:30pm Bags fly!

Below is a skill level breakdown for each division. This is subject to change. Also players can be moved at any time to another division from the Event Director. We will not accept any SANDBAGGING so if you are not sure where you stand always play up. We are also giving Gift Cards for Payout for the Beginner division to keep any sandbagging out of the event. If you want CASH then move up to the top 2 Divisions. We want new players to come out, play against people of the same skill level and have a great time. Then they can walk away with some Gift Cards for the Firehouse Pub if they win. Also there are NO ACL/ACO PROS ALLOWED in the tournament. We are doing our best to PUT THE FUN BACK INTO THE GAME. Thank you for your cooperation:

Competitive– This player can and wants to compete against anyone. Especially players at a high level. This player can execute the spin bag consistently. Also the player can use the slide bag and airmail bag strategy as needed. Player can struggle from time to time but it’s few and far between. Player fully understands game strategy and plays and practices in Leagues & Tournaments on a regular basis.

(Scoreholio Combined for 2/Player Team is 14.0 and above PPR)

Social– This player has developed some consistency when tossing the bag. This player can execute the spin bag consistently. They have an understanding of game strategy but have yet to master all the different types of throws needed to excel and compete at the higher levels. Player should work to play against Competitive level Players knowing that they may struggle at first but are working towards getting better. Plays in Leagues & Tournaments.

(Scoreholio Combined for 2/Player Team is 14.0 and below PPR)

Beginner – This player has a feel for the distance needed to toss the bag but is erratic in getting the bag to consistently hit and stay on the board. They cannot throw the spin bag or are not consistent with throwing the spin bag. Typically, this level of player is in the beginning stages of developing any type of consistent throwing motion that can be repeated. Players should play in the social division and start challenging themselves by playing against Social level players only after they are comfortable with throwing the spin bag on target. Is beginner to Leagues & Tournaments.

Social- $50/two-person team

Competitive- $60/two-person team

If we don’t have enough interest then we may have to combine divisions. Even if we combine divisions teams will still pay the same amount from when they originally pre-registered online. You also may not go down in divisions after registering.

The Labadie RibFest and Michigan Cornhole are partnering up for the Labadie RibFest Cornhole Tournaments!!

BITES,BEATS & BREWS FOOD TRUCK RALLEY CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT

This is Gabriel Richard Catholic High School’s last major fundraiser of the year – our 5th Food Truck Rally which will take place on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 5pm to 11pm. There will be several food trucks serving their specialties, live music from Category 5, a video game trailer and other activities for the kids, and a beer garden serving adult beverages.

We will also be hosting, for the first time, a Cornhole Tournament out on the burgundy turf – brought to you by Michigan Cornhole. As in years past, we will be drawing the winning tickets in our “It’s Your Lucky Day” Raffle during the evening, awarding the $10,000, $5,000, and $2,500!

We are looking forward to our first Major at The Capital Sport Field House in Owosso, MI. We have tons of Cornhole Boards and will be running multiple events at the same time! We are expecting close to 150-200 teams!! 250 teams are the capacity for this event. This is going to a great weekend so don’t miss out.

We will have the MICHIGAN VS. MICHIGAN STATE game on for everyone to enjoy during the event. The bar will be fully stocked and there will be plenty of food for everyone to enjoy. We are having a contest for the MOST SPIRITED FAN so make sure you use your imagination and come Saturday dressed up supporting your team. The MOST SPIRITED will receive a set of either MICHIGAN or MICHIGAN STATE Cornhole Boards. We will have some extra surprises as well that will be announced when they are finalized.

THE MICHIGAN CORNHOLE LEAGUE’S GOAL IS TO MATCH PLAYERS AGAINST OTHER PLAYERS OF SIMILAR SKILL LEVELS. PLEASE READ OUR PLAYER GUIDELINES PRIOR TO REGISTERING.
All skill level players may choose to play at a more advanced level, but you can not choose a lower level than your skill.

PRIZES FOR ALL EVENTS IS BASED ON PARTICIPATION IN THAT DIVISION
All “OPEN” events including A-B Divisions will receive 80% payouts
C-Division Events will receive 70% Payouts
D-Division Events will receive 60% Payouts
All events with 32 (teams or Individuals) will pay the top 3 spots, up to 64 teams the top 6 spots and up to 96 teams will pay 9 spots.

Event Format and Seeding Process:
– Crew Cup/Womans/Juniors/Seniors will be random seeding. Each event will have a double-elimination bracket.
– Singles will be seeded by MCL points at registration closing time. Each division will have a double-elimination bracket.
-Doubles will have three-rounders games per division to determine seed for the double-elimination bracket.

Player division process:
MCL Corporate and Directors will review all registrations. Based on knowledge of players, scoreholio stats, and player input divide players into divisions.

For doubles play teams will be placed into divisions based on the following player rankings:

“A” Division – A-A, A-B
“B” Division – A-C, B-B, B-C
“C” Division – A-D, B-D, C-C, C-D
“D” Division – D-D

Example a team with one B player and one C player will be placed into the “B” division for doubles.

PRIZES FOR ALL EVENTS IS BASED ON PARTICIPATION IN THAT DIVISION
All “OPEN” events including A Divisions will receive 80% payouts
B-Division Events will receive 70%
C-Division Events will receive 60% Payouts
D-Division Events will receive 50% Payouts
All events with 32 (teams or Individuals) will pay the top 3 spots, up to 64 teams the top 6 spots and up to 96 teams will pay 9 spots.

Event Format and Seeding Process:
– Crew Cup/Womans/Juniors/Seniors will be random seeding. Each event will have a double-elimination bracket.
– Singles will be seeded by MCL points at registration closing time. Each division will have a double-elimination bracket.
-Doubles will have three-rounders games per division to determine seed for the double-elimination bracket.

Player division process:
MCL Corporate and Directors will review all registrations. Based on knowledge of players, scoreholio stats, and player input divide players into divisions.

For doubles play teams will be placed into divisions based on the following player rankings:

“A” Division – A-A, A-B
“B” Division – A-C, B-B, B-C
“C” Division – A-D, B-D, C-C, C-D
“D” Division – D-D

Example a team with one B player and one C player will be placed into the “B” division for doubles.

Caesars Sportsbook and Casino presents the 2022 MCL Tournament of Champions to the state of Michigan.
Time to see who the real Caesars are on the boards!
The MCL is bringing you six qualifier events, each with a competitive and social division, for your chance to qualify for the Tournament of Champions on March 26, 2022, at the Turtle Creek Casino and Hotel in Traverse City where $25,000 will be given away! This is a bring your own partner event. The first four regional qualifier events will take place 3/12 – 3/19. Each of these events will be a double-elimination bracket and is limited to 32-competitive teams and 32-social teams. Players are allowed to compete in only one of these four events. The top four finishing teams from each bracket will receive their golden ticket entry to the Tournament of Champions.
There will be two last chance qualifiers held on 3/25 and 3/26 at Turtle Creek Casino in Traverse City. Each of these events will be a double-elimination bracket and is limited to 32-competitive teams and 32-social teams. The top eight finishing teams from each bracket will receive their golden ticket entry to the Tournament of Champions. These two events are open to players who have not qualified for the Tournament of Champions.

Last Chance Qualifiers
The entry for these events is open to anyone who hasn’t already qualified for the main event and meets the player eligibility requirements.

These two events will take place on Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26 at the Turtle Creek Casino and Hotel in Traverse City. More to come on registration dates for those events.

Tournament of Champions
The 32-teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket for each division. The following process will be used to determine the seeding:
• Seeds 1-6 will be randomly assigned to 1st place teams from qualifiers.
• Seeds 7-12 will be randomly assigned to 2nd place teams from qualifiers.
• Seeds 13-18 will be randomly assigned to 3rd place teams from qualifiers.
• Seeds 19-24 will be randomly assigned to 4th place teams from qualifiers.
• Seeds 25-32 will be assigned based on finish from the last chance qualifiers.

Player Divisions
MCL will place players in divisions based on knowledge of players, Scoreholio stats, and player input. A team with a competitive and social player will be placed into the competitive division. We encourage people to play competitive if they are unsure where they fall.

Competitive Players – These players can usually put in two or more bags per round. (Scoreholio PPR of 7.0 or above)

Social Players – These players range from a player who doesn’t always hit the board to those who can put most of the bags on the board. (Scoreholio PPR of 6.9 or below)

NATIONAL CHERRY FESTIVAL:

We are super excited to announce a Cornhole Tournament at the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City Michigan.
Cornhole is growing across the country like a wild fire. It is a simple game, that anyone can play.
This year, the event will be held in front of the water at the Cherry Festival Beer Tent Wednesday July 7th! We are going to have a blast!
Bring your own partner!! We will be playing as doubles. $40 per team
($20 per person)
We will play 4 games in a random round robin format to start out the event. After those 4 games are complete, we will seed all the teams based on their W-L record and point differential (so the final score counts during this stage).
We will divide the field of players into Tiers. We expect to have 2-3 Tiers of players. This will help to make sure teams are playing other teams of similar skill levels and allow Teams to get a minimum of 6 games in!

Are we playing for something? ABSOLUTELY!!!!
Our first goal is to have a lot of fun! We will be in the fenced in Beer Tent area, so we encourage you to drink a nice cold one while throwing bags!
There are prizes! Each Tier will award Cash and Prizes to the top 3 teams! The upper Tier the prizes will be of greater value.
We are still working on our prize packages and those will be announced prior to play beginning. We anticipate a prize pot of over $2000 in Cash and prizes.

MEIJER’S GAMES MCL CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT:

We have partnered with the Meijer State Games of Michigan to bring you a Cornhole Tournament.

June 26th
Tournament starts at noon. (11:00 am practice and check-in)

This will be at Cedar Rock Sports plex due to the weather.

We will be playing Doubles, so bring your partner. If you do not have a partner, please let us know. We can typically match you up with another player.

The day will start off with a 4 game Round Robin event.
After the Round Robin is complete, teams will be divided into Tiers to play a double elimination tournament.
Tier 1 will be the top 32 teams of the Round Robin
Tier 2 will be the next 32 teams
Tier 3 will be the remaining teams

Medals will be provided to the top 3 teams in Tier 1 and Tier 2.
the top 3 teams in Tier 1 will be qualified to participate in the National event to represent Michigan.

COVID-19 UPDATE:

The goal of Michigan Cornhole has always been to spread the game through leagues, tournaments and events that are fun for you and your friends.

One thing we don’t want to help spread – COVID-19. We have to postpone all our regular in person leagues and events due to the STAY AT HOME ORDER for the safety of our players, staff and the staff at our venues. This is such an incredibly hard thing to go through, as this is exactly what our leagues are about – socializing. We feel that this step toward social distancing is what’s best for our people.

Like many other small businesses in our area, this current circumstance will most definitely have an impact on our business, as it is unlike any other time in our 12 years of operation or our lifetime.

Our hope is to have our regular in person Leagues & Tournaments back up and running as soon as we can, but as we all know this is a very fluid situation and it changes day to day. Please continue to bear with us as we work through this new and unprecedented time.

Until then we are running Quarantine Leagues & Tournaments Daily. Let’s come together the only way we can…VIRTUALLY.

YOU MUST PLAY OUTSIDE and live in Michigan surrounding areas so we can try to make sure everyone is throwing in the same elements to keep it fair.
Format:
BYOP Doubles, Double Elimination
Best 2 Out Of 3 In Winners Bracket
Single Game In The Losers Bracket
Each game will be 10 rounds of 4 bags. Max points is 120 pts.(12 pts X 10=120)
Both players on each team will have to do their own games and the scores will be added up. The difference in points between teams determines the Winner. If there is a tie after the match then all 4 players throw 4 Bags to decide the Winner. This will continue until the tie is broken.
We want this tournament to be run like an in person tourney where depending on amount of teams lasts about at the most 4 hours. THE TOURNEY MUST END THE SAME DAY. If There Are Extenuating Circumstances That Arise Michigan Cornhole Will Make The Call If The Tournament Continues Or Is Postponed.
Set-Up-
-Games must be FB Live streamed from this Event Page: Quarantine Cornhole Tournament.
-Both boards must be visible with a score keeper of some kind in frame. If no Scoreboard you can use a pad of paper.
-Boards must be set 27’ apart and must be measured live.
-You are solely responsible for connection while streaming live, if a game is interrupted and not completed live, you will have to start where the video left off or take a forfeit.

DCFC SOKTOBERFEST

The inaugural Detroit City FC Soktoberfest is coming to Keyworth Stadium.

Join Le Rouge on Saturday, September 24 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for an all-day extravaganza, featuring the finest food trucks, beer, and 3v3 soccer.

In the spirit of Oktoberfest, the best local brews from Stroh’s Beer, Axle Brewing Co. and Blake’s Hard Cider Co. will be flowing in the Keyworth biergarten all day and night.

Soktoberfest presented by Metro Detroit Chevy Dealerss will also include music from Third Man Records Cass Corridor, fowling courtesy of Fowling Warehouse, Michigan Cornhole, and more!

There will be open cornhole boards with winner stays format from 4-9pm.

Festival admission is FREE to attend and open to the general public.

The Soktoberfest co-ed 3v3 tournament will be comprised of four separate tournaments for the following age groups: ages 7-10; ages 10-13; ages 14-17; and ages 18+.

Each team is guaranteed three matches, followed by playoffs. Maximum seven players per team. Players are encouraged to bring one light shirt and one dark shirt.

Matches are 20 minutes long, consisting of two 10-minute halves.

The cost to play is $60 per team.

Due to scheduling, registration for the tournament is online only. No walk-ups allowed. In order to play, every participant must sign a waiver upon arrival on the day of the event. If you are an individual in need of a team, please contact info@detcityfc.com.

Age groups 7-10, 10-13, and 14-17 will play from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For these age groups, each team must have at least one responsible parent/guardian at Keyworth on Sept. 24.

The co-ed tournament for ages 18+ will begin at 4 p.m.

DIY STREET FAIR

Come one, come all, and enjoy a fun weekend out at the DIY Street Fair in Ferndale sponsored by Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers. There will be food, drink, arts, kid zone,music, and of course Cornhole. You don’t want to miss it!!

Friday: 6pm-8pm with open boards for anybody to come play on. Get warmed up for the tournaments on Saturday.

Saturday: 12pm & 4pm with two bring your own partner tournaments. 11:30am check-in. This is a free tournament with no registration fee. There will be Visa gift card prizes as well as vendor prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Sunday: 4pm until 8pm we will have open bags. Come on out and enjoy the day and throw some bags with us.
